Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and WorthCheck, the operator of worthcheck.net and the WorthCheck apps. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

WorthCheck produces research-based buying verdicts using automated retrieval and AI analysis of publicly available material. Verdicts are informational only. They are not professional, financial, legal or safety advice, and they are not a guarantee of a product's performance, price, availability or suitability for you. You remain responsible for your own purchasing decisions, and you should confirm price, specification and availability with the retailer before you buy.

You must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. One person, one account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

The free plan allows a limited number of checks each day; the allowance resets daily and unused checks do not carry over. Premium removes that limit and hides advertising. We may adjust plan allowances and features, and will give notice in the app before a change that reduces what you already pay for.

Premium is offered as a monthly or annual subscription at the prices shown on the pricing page. Prices include applicable VAT. Payment is taken at purchase and renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.

You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you keep Premium access until then. If a payment fails and cannot be recovered, Premium access ends immediately and your account reverts to the free plan.

Consumers in the EU and UK have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. By starting a subscription you ask us to begin providing the service immediately; where you have used the service during that period, we may make a proportionate deduction. You agree not to:

• scrape, resell or systematically extract verdicts or other content from the service;
• use automated tools to run checks or to circumvent plan limits;
• attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service;
• submit unlawful content, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules.

Verdicts and site content are owned by WorthCheck. You may share and quote verdicts with attribution and a link. Verdicts generated from your checks may be published at a public address without any personal details attached; ask us and we will unpublish a specific verdict.

The service links to retailers and other third-party sites and, on the free plan, displays advertising. We do not control those sites or advertisers and are not responsible for their content, prices, products or practices. We earn no commission on purchases you make through links on the service.

The service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that verdicts will be accurate or complete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your mandatory statutory consumer rights.

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app before taking effect, and continued use afterwards means acceptance. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms.
